"Thank you [DCVB] so much for hosting the press conference and helping pull it all together. It sounded like a great success and the media coverage I saw was excellent. It was a huge win for us both and I know the cover feature will help to create interest and awareness, about not only Durham, but all the “cool” urban areas of our state."

Thanks for the Positive Coverage of Durham
"I already was very proud to be a Durham resident and appreciate the positive press. The focus on crime has been misplaced in light of all the good we have going for us. Hats off to you, [DCVB], Well deserved and long past due."

Food Tours Was Great Experience
"This tour [Taste Carolina Gourmet Food Tours] was amazing...Dean who was our tour guide was very personable and knowledgeable of the city of Durham. It is such a quaint friendly beautiful city where literally we felt like everyone knows everyone. It wasnt too busy, loud and filled with popular chains, quite the opposite. The restaurants were all so different and exclusive, Dean pointed out that they all pretty much use each others ingredients to create their fabulous dishes. All of the food was fresh and made from scratch and tasted wonderful. It was just the right amount of food at each place, not too much to make you sick but not too little to be dissatisfied. We were first greeted with a scrumptious cupcake from Daisy cupcakes by our tour guide. We tasted things like wine and a fabulous spinach cheese pastry pie from Rue Cler, awesome turnip pastries from Scratch, to die for shrimp and grits from Piedmont (which we went back for after the tour) and the best pimento sandwiches from Parker and Otis."

Museum of Life and Science is a Good Value
"The museum is wonderful for kids - so interactive and so many interesting things to do...The butterfly pavilion was especially popular with my family. We have kids aged 1 and 4 and there were things for both of them to do. I think this provides good value for the cost of admission, but be aware that it is in the network of science museums. Our Denver Musuem of Nature and Science membership got us into this museum for free."

Best Dish Anywhere According to TripAdvisor
"So we finally had the opportunity to try Six Plates tonight. It was so worth the wait!!!! I had the Tuna Tartar Tower and the Seared Scallops. Scallops were delicious - melt in your mouth tender and so full of flavor. Just the right portion. But the Tuna Tartar Tower --- OMG, seriously, the BEST thing I have EVER had in ANY restaurant ANYWHERE!!!"

Six Plates Wine Bar is a Great Place for Friends
"Just wanted to add to the good reviews of Six Plates...we had an awesome time. We ordered a few plates and the fries, and enjoyed passing them around and tasting each of them. The flatbread with cranberries was incredible, the braised oxtail was divine, and both our salad and a fish dish were above average. We also had one of the staff help us find a moderately priced, quite lovely pinor noir that suited the food we had selected (since we didn't want to order the glasses for each dish), and we experienced nice service all around."

Great to Have DCVB Working for Durham
"Congratulations on Durham being featured in the NY Times in its ‘top places to go’! We’re so fortunate here in Durham to have such support from a great Convention & Visitor’s Bureau. Thank you for all the work that you do to continue putting Durham ‘on the map’!"
