Writer Lauds DCVB's Poley as a Go-To Guy

"In the course of 15 plus years I have worked with many tourism, marketing, and other folks in the business of promoting cities and towns across the U.S. Without a question, Sam Poley in the Durham CVB is the best in North Carolina and in the top 5 I have worked with in the Southeast. Sam is never too busy to respond and is usually one of the “first responders” when I put out my 411 emails. Once, he even took my call while trying to get out the door to vacation – I think his children were waiting on him or either he took the call while on vacation, which would not surprise me. I would not want to write an article about Durham without talking to Sam to first.  For the best scoop in town, he is the Go-To Guy."

Carolina Theatre a “Wonderful historic venue”

"The Carolina Theater has been renovated with loving care and is not only a great venue for movies and live performances, but has retained its charm and elegance from years ago. They also have a very good line-up of performances and host the annual Full-Frame Documentary Film Festival as well as the Gay and Lesbian Film Festival each year. I always look forward to coming here."

Conference Thankful for DCVB's Help in Staffing Registration Table

"I cannot thank you enough for the finding Christine McIntyre to assist at the Registration Desk during our Annual Conference at the Sheraton Imperial from May 14 – 16, 2012. She was a quick learner, knowledgeable, friendly, arrived early, found ways to help beyond what was expected of her,  etc. She is the best worker we have ever had during a conference. Thank you so much for connecting us with her!"

NC League Lauds the Durham Experience

"The NC League staff was absolutely thrilled with the welcome boxes (including the surprise local beer).  Fantastic job...The League staff was equally complimentary on the excellent [Convention Center] facility, staff and preparedness. They loved the food – best of all the events statewide...they rated Durham as the best experience. Fantastic work and thanks to all.  I am so proud of the product that we offer."
