Rave Review for Durham

My husband, daughter and I completely enjoyed Durham.  The thing that stood out the most was how incredibly friendly everyone was – from the airport staff, hotel, car rental, restaurants, grocery stores, etc.  We were constantly amazed at the friendliness! We truly enjoyed your city and have told everyone at home what a great place it is.  A bonus was being able to drive to the ocean so easily one weekend – and the next to Ashville to see the beauty of the mountains!!

Visitor Impressed by Downtown Tree Canopy in Durham

As a visitor to Durham, the first thing that impressed me was the canopy of street trees downtown. These may be trees that are taken for granted by someone who sees them every day but I can assure you, "someone" and some "group" of people has gone to great lengths to provide a lasting treasure for Durham. I hope that new people coming into power realize what Durham has and will continue this tree planting program for other generation to appreciate. Trees are forever, billboards are "trash forever".

Durham Sustainability Manager Proud of DCVB Efforts

"Congratulations to you and everyone at DCVB (and Durham) for securing Durham as the Tastiest Town in the South.  I know you all put a lot into promoting the contest and I am glad to see it paid off.  I really loved seeing how the local restaurants worked together to promote it, too.  It reinforced my sense of community to see everyone working towards a shared goal.

Great work, too, on the 50/50 blog.  It looks like you treated that visitor like royalty and showed her a lot of what Durham has to offer.  I was full after just reading her posts."

Durham Distillery Thankful for DCVB Efforts

“Word of mouth and sharing Krupnikas with people has been the best marketing tool. It is a very accessible drink, on its own or served as a cocktail, and most people will enjoy a glass or two. The Durham News Service, run by the Durham Convention & Visitors Bureau, has also helped a lot to get the word out to local media outlets. It has been like having a free PR company.”

Museum of Life and Science Thankful for Volunteers

Happy New Year!  I wanted to let you know that we were overwhelmed (in a good way!) with the quantity and quality of volunteers we got for Santa Train from the Wayfinders.  They were outstanding, particularly those who kept coming back the last week.  I really appreciate the CVB hosting Shiftboard to make it possible and your help spreading the word.  Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you all and thanks again for being such a fabulous resource!
