Visitor Impressed by Downtown Tree Canopy in Durham

As a visitor to Durham, the first thing that impressed me was the canopy of street trees downtown. These may be trees that are taken for granted by someone who sees them every day but I can assure you, "someone" and some "group" of people has gone to great lengths to provide a lasting treasure for Durham. I hope that new people coming into power realize what Durham has and will continue this tree planting program for other generation to appreciate. Trees are forever, billboards are "trash forever".

Resident Lauds Durham Lifestyle

"My wife and I love living in Durham. I just finished walking to work after stopping at my favorite coffeeshop for some hot tea -- and where I ran into a neighbor and chatted for a bit. With transit here, on Friday I left my car at work and took a bus to the airport -- no parking charges and I was there in 40 minutes' time door to door."
